Respond and recover
to health events
Life doesn’t pause for setbacks, but recovery takes the right support. Exercise physiology helps you regain strength and confidence after injury, surgery, pregnancy, or the onset of a chronic condition. At Lift, with tailored, evidence-based care, you’ll have a safe pathway forward. One that’s designed around your health, your needs and your pace.
Manage the
action in your everyday
It’s the little things like carrying groceries, climbing stairs, keeping up with family and work that make up the rigour of life. Exercise physiology builds the strength, mobility and balance you need for those everyday demands. Our approach is practical, sustainable and focused on helping you feel capable in your body, every single day.
To push your
performance to new heights
Performance isn’t just for athletes. It’s for anyone who wants to do more and feel stronger while doing it. Exercise physiology prepares your body to handle challenges safely, whether that’s training for an event, lifting heavier in the gym, or reducing your risk of injury. With the right guidance, you can push forward with confidence.

Exercise Physiology
FAQs
What does an Exercise Physiologist do differently to a personal trainer?
Exercise Physiologists are university trained health professionals who prescribe exercise as a form of medicine, similar to how doctors prescribe medications. A personal trainer will be able to improve your strength, fitness and lifestyle. An Exercise Physiologist will be able to help you use exercise as a tool to prevent, manage or treat a wide variety of conditions both physical and mental.
Is Exercise Physiology the same as Physiotherapy?
Short answer, no. If you injured yourself, had surgery or something similar recently (less than 2 weeks ago) then a physiotherapist is best for acute care. For management of chronic diseases, longer term injuries/pain, mental health support and lifestyle management for complex cases then Exercise Physiology is right for you.
How much does Exercise Physiology cost at Lift?
$170 — 60 mins, $127.50 — 45 mins, $85 — 30 mins
Can I claim Exercise Physiology on anything?
Yes. Exercise physiology can be claimed as a part of the Medicare benefits scheme, private health insurance (if it is ticked in your extras cover), NDIS funding, Department of Veterans affairs and more. If you are unsure what you may be eligible for, contact Lift inner west or your general practitioner.
