Exercise as medicine
for mental health

Exercise Physiology for
Why Exercise Helps
The evidence for exercise and mental health
One of the most effective tools we have

The evidence is strong: regular exercise helps reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety and supports stress management — which is why it’s increasingly prescribed alongside psychological and medical care rather than instead of it. Movement changes sleep, energy and self-efficacy, and the effects compound with consistency.

Exercising Safely
Training on the hard weeks as well as the good ones
Structure for when motivation disappears

Motivation follows action more often than it leads it. Sessions give you structure, accountability and a private, welcoming space where you don’t have to perform — no crowded gym floor, no pressure to be ‘on’. On the hard weeks the plan flexes; showing up in any form counts.

Alongside Your Medical Team
Working alongside your GP and mental health team
Allied health, working as it should

Exercise physiology sits inside your care team. We work alongside your GP, psychologist or psychiatrist, follow your mental health care plan where one exists, and report progress back where it’s useful. Medicare and DVA rebates may apply for eligible care plans.

Building a routine that holds
Confidence comes back one session at a time

As the routine takes hold, training becomes an anchor in the week — and the goal shifts from managing symptoms to building capacity. When you’re ready, sessions progress toward independent training or PT, at whatever pace feels sustainable.

Training that gives back more than it takes

Physically, expect better sleep, more energy and the steady accumulation of strength — with a program planned by an EP who understands the link between mental and physical health and adjusts week to week.

Just as importantly, expect a space that asks nothing of you socially. Private studio, one coach, a clear plan — a steady routine that becomes an anchor in your week, with wins that compound quietly.
